Financing for Feminist Futures Conference

Help us shape feminist futures in Madrid on May 21-23 2025

Despite some progress, no country has achieved gender equality. Feminist movements and civil society organizations are essential for driving change but often face limited resources, particularly in the Majority World.

With the Financing for Feminist Futures conference, Walking the Talk aims to integrate feminist practices into foreign and development funding strategies ahead of the fourth International Financing for Development Conference, the upcoming G7 and G20 Summits, and beyond.

Are you an activist, researcher, policymaker, donor, or member of a civil society organization who wants to make gender equality a reality for all? Join us for the Financing for Feminist Futures conference in Madrid to connect, share knowledge, and strategize on ways to secure more and better funding for feminist futures.

Our goals for the conference

  • Facilitate dialogue: enable the engagement of decision-makers, researchers, activists, donors, and civil society organizations to put funding for feminist movements at the center of the Financing for Development agenda.
  • Launch a Common Ask Framework: introduce a Common Ask Framework outlining the resources needed to achieve gender equality goals.
  • Weave feminist movements together: connect and amplify the demands of civil society organizations, think tanks, women’s funds, academia, and grassroots groups ahead of Financing for Development.
  • Share and amplify research results: exchange experiences, tools, and opportunities to improve gender-transformative financing with leaders and decision-makers in the field.

As part of the conference, 13 innovative research projects exploring strategies for advancing feminist funding globally have been selected. Their results will be presented at the conference. Discover the research proposals and their main themes
