Want to organise an event on International Open Data Day? Apply now!
On Saturday, March 4th 2017 it is International Open Data Day. Do you want to solve problems by the use of open data? Apply now for funding to organise an event!
Open Knowledge International will distribute 12,500 USD worth of mini-grants to support your event ideas. The Open Contracting Data programme of Hivos and Article 19 as well as SPARC and Hewlett Foundation are funding the grants. The mini-grants are meant for organizing events on International Open Data Day.
This Year, Open Data Day has its focus on problems that can be solved with open data. The four categories you can apply for are Open Research Data, Open Contracting and tracking public money flows, Open Data for environment and Open Data for human rights. An event in one of these categories can get a grant between 200 and 400 USD.
Successful applications will show how open data day is connected to other future activities and not a one-off event in the community. Learn more on how to apply here.
The deadline for applying is 13th February 2017. The selected grantees will be announced on 20th February 2017.
