Voices for Just Climate Action

New research reveals a systemic and invisible injustice: women and low-income families across the Global South are paying the real costs of the climate crisis; not governments, and not the corporations most responsible for emissions.

This publication gathers stories about many inspiring initiatives in the Brazilian Amazon supported by Hivos under the VCA program.

This paper outlines why money should flow to the local level by showcasing good examples of locally led climate solutions. It provides examples of several existing mechanisms that have been designed to increase participation, transparency and accountability as potential vehicles to channel much needed resources to these kinds of solutions.
