Open Contracting and Inclusion: Join us this Thursday 11 June

June 8, 2020

Hivos hosts an online conversation this Thursday to discuss its open contracting and inclusion research:

Join us Thursday 11 June at 3 PM CEST.

Who benefits from open contracting? In Hivos’ latest publication (research by Francois van Schalkwyk  & Miko Cañares) on open contracting and inclusion, five cases were selected to explore the possible benefits of open contracting for marginalized communities.

The research set out to answer the following questions:

  1. How can open contracting reforms and increased availability of contract data be used to realize results and benefits for specific, historically marginalized groups external to government?
  2. What contextual and programmatic aspects in open contracting contribute to achieving meaningful results and benefits for these marginalized groups?
  3. What do specific, historically marginalized stakeholders experience as significant barriers/impediments to achieving the desired results and benefits?

Please join us during an online conversation where we will discuss the research results and dive into questions about if and how we can make open contracting interventions stick.

When: 11 June 3PM CET (9AM EDT / 4PM EAT)
