Climate justice and urban food systems

This study maps out the multiple ways in which art can function as a medium to advocate for climate justice. It presents ten case studies and concludes with opportunities, challenges and recommendations to foster “artivism” for climate justice.

Based on learnings from the Sustainable Diets for All (SD4All) program, we have identified a number of recommendations for policy, action and research on food systems and climate change.

This paper outlines why money should flow to the local level by showcasing good examples of locally led climate solutions. It provides examples of several existing mechanisms that have been designed to increase participation, transparency and accountability as potential vehicles to channel much needed resources to these kinds of solutions.

Hivos has developed five strategies for promoting the voices and choices of marginalized people, while strengthening civil society overall. This primer is about the second strategy: forging multi-actor initiatives.
