In community organizing, teams are made of 7 or 8 persons. However, their commitment is crucial as its absence will have a negative impact on the overall work.

What are the 4 Cs in community organizing?

In order to ensure that a new member will be committed to the team, first of all, we should Connect with him/her. Then, the Context should be explained, in order to reveal whether this person is indeed interested in our cause. If that is the case, then the individual should be asked whether he/she is willing to Commit. Finally, the last step is Catapult. This means that one team member might bring in another, and so on.
