Hivos announces that Anne Jellema will step down from her role as Chief Executive Officer. She will leave per January 1, 2025 to join 350.org as their new Executive Director.
During Anne’s two years as CEO, Hivos strengthened its external voice; deepened its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; expanded partnerships with new funders; and delivered impact on major programs at the cutting edge of gender equality, civic rights and climate justice.
Anne commented, “It has been a privilege to lead the passionate and talented team at Hivos and to work with so many courageous partners on the frontlines of human rights struggles around the world. Hivos and 350 have a common goal of strengthening the power of people to fight for a just and sustainable world, and my dedication to this cause will continue in my new position.”
Diana Monissen, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board, added: “We are grateful for the transformational leadership Anne has provided at Hivos and her contributions to developing an exciting new strategic direction. She will leave behind a strong organization that is poised for the future.”
The Supervisory Board will immediately take the necessary steps to bring Hivos’ leadership at full strength and capacity to maintain the organization’s momentum and focus on its mission.
