The experience and data gathered by our We lead program have provided critical insights into the evolving nature of threats faced by SRHR advocates and the mechanisms needed to effectively respond. In this We Lead Safety & Security Learning Brief, we share important lessons and recommendations.

This manual is a practical, rights-based, and contextually relevant resource aimed at equipping young women and their allies with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to protect themselves and continue their critical work safely.

This learning brief shares key insights, lessons, and recommendations from five years of Capacity Strengthening (CS) under the We Lead program.

The young women of We Lead’s Community of Action (CoA) in Guatemala decided to tell their stories through portraits of their bodies in the booklet “We Decide, We Resist, and We Exist. From Radical Tenderness”. This strong stance calls attention to the various specific demands of these women rightsholders.

The We Lead partnership (2021 – 2025) is committed to protecting the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) of adolescent girls and young women. This manifesto explains what we collectively stand for.
